Filming and editing of the video on the management of intestinal nematodes in small ruminants

As part of Access Agriculture's collaboration on behalf of the SustainSahel project, four videos are planned to share South-South knowledge between the project's three target countries.

Following the production of the video on mulch in Burkina Faso, Access Agriculture has launched the production process for the second video on intestinal nematode management in Senegal.

After the various stages of script writing and validation by the SustainSahel WP6 team, the Access Agriculture production team led by Michel Kaba travelled to Senegal to shoot the video from 22 July to 26 July 2024.

For five days, the Access Agriculture film crew, supported by ISRA - Senegalese Institute of Agricultural Research, Sénégal, travelled to the villages of Thila, Nidiayène and Gorée Thiongue in Senegal to film and interview livestock farmers in accordance with a previously approved script. Aminata Beye of Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) facilitated the production team's access to the farmers and the translation of questions into local languages and French.

To avoid missing footage, the film crew took great care to capture a lot of footage from the farmers' homes to the various grazing areas.

After filming, the Access Agriculture team retired to the studio to edit the video. This was the most delicate part, during which changes and adjustments were made to improve the quality of the video. Several versions of the video were shared with FiBl and ISRA for comments and amendments.

It took three months of editing to produce the final version of the video on the management of intestinal nematodes in small ruminants in French and English. To help farmers in the 3 project countries understand the content of the video, it has been translated into the 5 local languages of the project: Bamabra, Serer, Moore, Wolof and Fulfulde. All language versions are linked below.
