Access Agriculture is contributing to the implementation and delivery of WP 8: Communications and Dissemination of the Sustain Sahel project implemented in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Senegal. In this context, nine videos were selected and translated into the major local languages of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Senegal.
Translating nine farmer-to-farmer videos in local languages
Through funding received from various organisations, Access Agriculture has translated about 240 videos in more than 90 languages. Access Agriculture’ website hosts more than 3,000 videos in local languages.
Especially for the three focus countries of SustainSahel, nine videos were identified for 23 translations for Burkina Faso, Mali, and Senegal.
For Burkina Faso, four videos were translated into Moore, two videos into Bambara for Mali, four videos into Wolof, four into Fulani, and nine into Serer for Senegal.
The videos identified for the project and translated are:

Video dissemination
The SustainSahel YouTube channel now features five playlists with the summary versions of the nine videos translated by Access Agriculture. Followers can browse these videos, however, for the full video version with all translations follow the links in the video description to the Access Agriculture platform
To disseminate these videos to the local stakeholder, CSE and FiBL will share the videos through micro-SD cards which can be inserted into phones. This is an accessible way to share videos with farmers in the Sahel without internet connection or without incurring costs for downloads. The videos, including relevant translations for the area, will be shared with lead farmer in the upcoming field days in all three focus countries. These videos can then be shared with other interested viewers from the lead farmers' phones via bluetooth.
Global access of farmer-to-farmer videos
All these above videos are freely downloadable from the Access Agriculture video platform. Likewise, related farmer-friendly factsheets and audio files are accessible from the platform after registration.
